Top 150 prospect has a home

Tony Lewis was a virtual unknown coming out of high school in Chicago, IL a few seasons ago. Lewis recently just finished his junior college career at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA. JucoJunction found out today that Lewis has found a home for next season in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Lewis, (SO) 6-foot-7 (225), will play at Illinois State University next season according to Panthers head coach Troy Muilenburg. The Panthers finished the season at 27-5 and lost out to Kirkwood Community College to advance to the National Tourney in Danville, IL this past March.

Lewis averaged 22.8 ppg and 11.5 rebounds this past season while shooting 52.8% (266-504) from the floor. Lewis finished his career at Ellsworth Community College with 1,217 career points and 729 rebounds in 61 games played for the Panthers.
"Tony is a very talented player with a great knack for scoring the ball in the paint and for being very active," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Lewis, the # 105 ranked player in the JucoJunction Top 150, received interest from Southern Illinois University and Illinois State before deciding on the Redbirds.
Tony will join former high school teammate Osiris Eldridge at Illinois State University if he comes back for his senior season at Illinois State. Eldridge has entered his name into the NBA Draft and has until June 15 to pull out of the draft if he desires to come back to Bloomington-Normal for next season. The two of them played together at Phillips High School in Chicago.
