Two New York Prospects Headed West

The Big West Conference has one school very fond of New York City. JucoJunction.com has the latest on these two players who will play out west next season.
"I am heading out to Long Beach State University to play next season" said Technical Career Institute shooting guard Khalid Gerard. Gerard a third year player at TCI averaged 23.3 ppg and 6.5 rebounds this season for the Generals. "I really liked the idea of the weather and the chance to come in and play right away next season" said Gerard.

Gerard sat out the 2008-2009 at TCI. Khalid hails from St Thomas, Virgin Islands. He visited Texas State University and Long Beach State this spring before deciding on the 49ers. Gerard should see alot of playing time next season at "The Beach" from the two guard position. "Khalid has a really good stroke and can create his own shot" said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Corey Jackson will join Gerard in the Big West Conference next season at Long Beach State. Jackson played the past two seasons for Fashion Institute of Technology and Tigers Head Coach Michael Kerr.
Jackson 20.8 ppg, 5.3 rebounds this season while earning Region 15 Player of the Year and first team All-Region honors this season. "Corey is a versatile combo guard" said Swanson. JucoJunction saw these two players back in the fall at Rick Balls Jamboree at St Peter's College. Jackson hails from Brentwood,NY.
