Two Palm Beach prospects sign

Palm Beach Community College had two players sign Division One scholarships for next season. Head coach Tony Sheals just finished his second year at the Lake Worth, FL school. JucoJunction has the latest on these players in this story.
Roy Hinson, a (SO) 6-foot-6 (205) forward from Sanford, NC, signed with Gardner Webb for next season. Hinson is the son of former NBA player Roy Hinson who played twelve years in the league. Hinson played with Cleveland, New Jersey and Philadelphia. Roy started his college career at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2005-2006 as a redshirt and did not play for the Islanders.

Roy averaged 8.5 ppg and 6.6 rebounds this season for Palm Beach CC while gathering 2nd team all conference honors. The left-handed Hinson shot 51% from the floor on the season. Hinson received interest from Bethune-Cookman, Centenary and Jacksonville in the recruiting process.
Lonnie Funderburke, (SO) 6-foot-7, has signed with Tennessee State University for next season. Lonnie graduated high school in Atlanta, GA area at Central Gwinnett High School. Funderburke averaged 5.2 ppg and 4.2 rebounds this season. Lonnie received interest from Middle Tennessee State, Southeast Missouri State and Arkansas State in the recruiting process.
