Two Serious Offers for Harvey Thomas

JUCO Junction caught up with Northeast Oklahoma A&M Head Coach Jason Turk at the recent Region II Tournament in Shawnee, Okla., and the Norsemen's first-year Head Coach filled us in on the latest with his star sophomore, Harvey Thomas.
In the game we watched in Shawnee, Thomas was terrific on the offensive end, hitting the game winning shot as NEO won a quarterfinal round matchup against Eastern Oklahoma.

Turk told JUCO Junction that Baylor and UAB have offered Thomas scholarships, while Arizona State, Oklahoma and Cincinnati are also taking a look at the versatile 6-7 small forward.
"Harvey is a tough matchup for a lot of people, and if he can get the basketball in a one-on-one situation, he's dangerous," Turk said. "We always felt confident with the ball in his hands down the stretch, and he likes to have the ball in his hands down the stretch."
The defensive side of the ball, however, can be a challenge for Thomas. He doesn't exert nearly the same amount of energy on defense as he does on offense.
On the whole, he's still a player that Turk liked to have on his side going into battle.
"Harvey loves to compete and loves the tough games," Turk said.
Thomas is expected to graduate in the spring. He will likely be setting up some official visits over the next few weeks, and JUCO Junction will keep you posted on his recruiting situation as next month's signing date approaches.
