Two Skyhawks ready to fly

The Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks are in Region 4 in Northern Illinois. Sauk Valley has conference foes Highland CC, Kennedy-King and Kankakee CC in its way to advance to the region finals this season. Sauk Valley will be hosting the region tourney this season in March. Head coach Russ Damhoff had a chance to touch base with JucoJunction today on two of his sophomores.
Jeremiah Box: (SO) 6-foot-5 (195) from Rockford, IL. Box is the brother of former NJCAA All American Joel Box who played at John Wood CC (IL) a few years back.

"Jeremiah is an athletic small forward that's not physical enough to play inside," said Damhoff. "He has alot more shooting skills than people think."
Box will fall short of graduation and will have to go the D2/NAIA route. Jeremiah is averaging 11 points per game this season and five rebounds for the (13-6) Skyhawks.
Seth Nicklaus: (SO) 6-foot-4 (180) from Dixon, IL. The hometown product was a predictor out of high school.
"Seth can really create his own shot," Damhoff said.
Nicklaus, a lefthanded two guard is averaging 12 points per contest this season. Nicklaus has hit over 40 three-pointers this season.
The Skyhawks lost Lance Young, 6-foot-9 (260), at the break. Young was sitting out after transferring in from University of Illinois-Chicago. Young is no longer enrolled in school at Sauk Valley CC.
