Two to watch at New Mexico JC

Head coach Jimmy Voight has the Thunderbirds of New Mexico Junior College on a roll this season. The Thunderbirds are currently 20-6 on the season in the always tough region with the likes of Midland College, South Plains, Howard College, Odessa College, Western Texas and Frank Phillips. JucoJunction took a look at the T-Birds only two sophomores on the roster.
Fabio Ribero, (SO) 6-foot-10 (245) from Brazil, has been at NMJC the past two seasons.

"Fabio is a solid contributor to our success here at NMJC. He is a solid defender and rebounder and a good high post shooter and scorer," said Voight.
Fabio is receiving interest from Louisiana-Monroe, Towson State, South Florida and St. Francis (PA) according to Voight. Ribero is averaging 8 ppg and 8 rebounds this season. Ribero is a very good student in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA.
Richie Lewis, (SO) 5-foot-11 (180) from Las Vegas, NV, became eligible at second semester a season ago for the Thunderbirds. Richie is a left-handed point guard that is extremely athletic with great bounce.
"Richie is one of our co-captains with Fabio this season," Voight noted.
Lewis is averaging 9 ppg and 5 assists this season while shooting 83% from the foul line.
JucoJunction will keep an eye on the team from Hobbs, NM this second semester. We will take a look at the Thunderbirds' freshmen in a later story.
