Utes score commit from CCSF point guard

New Utah Utes head coach Ray Giacoletti has secured an early commitment from JUCO point guard Johnny Bryant, a sharp-shooting point guard out of City College of San Francisco.
According to CCSF head coach Justin Labagh, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Bryant committed last week and will now redshirt this spring in order to gain a third year of eligibility at Utah.

“Usually they don’t come in and take freshmen but Utah decided they wanted him,” Labagh said.
Bryant, who averaged roughly 15 points per game as a freshman for CCSF, is described by Labagh as a “stone-cold shooter. He’s just an offensive threat.”
According to Labagh, Bryant was recruited by San Jose State coming out of high school and he had several Pac-10 schools showing interest this spring.
