LaVanne Pennington and Daquan Brown both played in prep schools before heading off to college.

Pennington is a California native who prepped at Genesis One Christian School in Mendenhall, M.S. The shooting guard transferred in this season to Barstow College from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Pennington is off to a great start for the 12-2 Vikings this season. Pennington is averaging 19.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 46.8 percent (65-139) from 3-point range this season.
Pennington has scored 36 points on two different occasions this season versus Allan Hancock College and Pasadena City College. Pennington is ranked No. 98 in the JucoJunction top 150 this season.
Brown is a Brooklyn, N.Y. native that prepped at Laurinburg Institute (NC) after attending Lincoln High School in the Big Apple.
Brown has used his 6-foot-10-inch body to average 9.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season while shooting 55 percent from the floor for the Vikings. Brown is ranked No.89 in the JucoJunction Top 150 this season.
Vikings Head Coach Reggie Howard, a former division one assistant coach, has his squad moving in the right direction heading into conference play this month.
