"Lavanne decided to stay in California so his mom and family can watch him play. He really enjoyed his visit to San Jose State University along with the city and the basketball staff. He should be able to fill a scoring void left by potential NBA player Adrian Oliver," said Howard.
The shooting guard started his career at the University of Southern Mississippi. Pennington helped the Vikings to their best season in many years. Pennington averaged 16.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this season for the Vikings.
Pennington prepped at Genesis One Christian School in Mendenhall, M.S. before starting college. Hawaii, New Mexico State and Cal state Northridge all showed interest in Pennington this spring according to Howard.
