Wabash Valley full of talent

Coach Dan Sparks is no stranger to Region 24 after coaching at Vincennes (IN) for over 20 years. The schools are just 30 miles apart from one another. Sparks has the Warriors off to a (3-0) start heading into Wednesday at Mineral Area (MO).
Desmond Hendrix, 6-foot-10 (270), is no longer committed to the LSU Tigers.

"He is open as of right now and won't sign until the late signing period," Sparks said.
Desmond has scored 17 points,18 rebounds and had 13 fouls in his first three games this season.
UNLV, Indiana, Cincinnati and Oklahoma State have started recruiting Hendrix again.
Marcus Van, 6-foot-6 (220) from Chicago, had given a verbal commitment to Eastern Illinois but backed off it as of yesterday according to Coach Sparks.
"Marcus is a great offensive rebounder he is not just real skilled in catching or passing," Sparks commented.
Illinois-Chicago and Butler were recruiting Van prior to the verbal to Eastern Illinois. Van on the young season is averaging 14 points and 8.3 rebounds.
Ricky Garrett, 6-foot-4 (180) from Rome, GA, is a two guard who averaged 4.3 points last season is now up to 13.7 this season.
"Ricky is shooting 65% from the floor (13-20) so far this season," Sparks said.
Charlotte and Santa Barbara are currently recruiting Garrett.
Emanuel Gaiter, 6-foot-4 (195) from Waukegan, IL, is a two-three man. Gaiter is off to fast start this season with a 14.7 average. Gaiter averaged 10.1 points last year.
"Emanuel has a good knack for taking the ball into gaps and zones and getting his shots off. He just needs to keep his intensity higher night in night out," Sparks said.
His recruitment is lukewarm right now, but could heat up.
Dexter Powell, 6-foot-5 (200), is also from Rome, GA. Powell hasn't played yet this season. He is nursing a foot injury. Powell averaged 8.3 points a game last season. Marshall is calling on Dexter.
