Wabash Valley with a strong class

Wabash Valley Community College sent a couple of players on to Division One last season, but the real talent at WVCC may be in the Class of 2007. Toby Madison has a half a dozen players with Division One potential, including three who are already getting high major attention.
Here is a rundown of the players, along with a quick assessment from Madison:

Desmond Hendrix: "Desmond is a skilled big man. He can step out to 17 feet and moves well for his size." Hendrix is being recruited by the likes of LSU, Cincinnati, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Pittsburgh.
Marcus Van: "He is a big-time athlete, a shot blocker and a finisher. He competes big time, is a phenomenal rebounded and his skills are improving." Some of the same big schools are recruiting Van, along with mid-majors like Butler, Bradley and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Dexter Powell: "An athletic, long wing with a sweet stroke. He can get to the rim and has a mid-range game. Good defender and he can post up too." UNLV, Nebraska and Georgia Tech are some of the bigger names in contact with Powell.
Emanuel Gaiter: "Old school wing who can flat out score. He is great at mid-range, great in the post and can finish with contact. He gets to the line and is getting better behind the arc." Wyoming, Weber State, Marshall, North Texas and UC-Santa Barbara are watching Gaiter.
Ricky Garrett: "High major athlete who can score in a lot of ways. He is great in transition and a real streak shooter." VCU, Middle Tennessee and UC-Santa Barbara are on Garrett early.
Norman Anderson: "Quick, quick, quick, hawk on the ball defender. He gets by anytime he wants and passes first. He is very unselfish and very tough." Anderson hopes to get some D1 looks this summer.
With that amount of talent, Wabash Valley could be headed for another strong season.
