Wallace State prospects to watch

Head Coach Allen Sharpe had a great season last year. The Wallace State Lions finished the season at 28-4. JucoJunction had a chance to talk to coach Sharpe today about five of his sophomores for this coming season.
Cory Cooperwood: (SO) 6-foot-6 (215) from Kensett, AR. The All-American from last season played this past summer at Jerry Mullens 120 JUCO Camp in Tulsa, OK.

Cory went to Northwestern State University (LA) out of high school in the summer of 2006. Cory stayed just the summer at Northwestern State and left for Wallace State.
"Cory is a very high energy kid. He is a great teammate and can really score the basketball around the basket," said Sharpe.
Cooperwood averaged 16.2 ppg and 8 rebounds last season while shooting 52.5% from
the floor.
Cooperwood, a combo forward, will be taking an official visit this coming weekend to Missouri State (Sept 21-23) and Lipscomb (Sept 28-30). Missouri State and Lipscomb have both offered scholarships to Cory. Murray State, Middle Tennessee State, Georgia State, Evansville, Louisiana Monroe and Weber State are also keeping tabs on Cooperwood.
Xavier Keeling: (SO) 6-foot-6 (236) from Huntsville, AL. Keeling is power forward who transferred in from the Indiana University.
"Xavier is a man among boys. He is really a load around the basket," said Sharpe. "Xavier is very skilled and can create for others on the floor."
Murray State has shown early interest in the power forward.
Chris Leggett: (SO) 6-foot-7 (200) from Meridian, MS. Leggett transferred in from Meridian Community College where he averaged 13 ppg and 8 rebounds last season.
"Chris is a combo forward who can knockdown the 12-15 footer. He has a real nice soft touch on the ball," said Sharpe.
Alcorn State and Jackson State have called on Leggett this fall.
Javon Borum: (SO) 6-foot-0 (195) from Suitland, MD. Borum transferred in from NCAA D2 Johnson C Smith in North Carolina. Javon prepped at Massanutten Military in Virginia.
"Javon is a true point guard with a good frame," said Sharpe.
Chris Goodwin: (SO) 6-foot-2 (175) from Hendersonville, TN. Goodwin transferred in from Tennessee Temple College. The shooting guard scored 45 points in one game last season after shooting 9-11 from three-point range.
"Chris is a big time shooter with a very quick release," said Sharpe.
North Florida and Campbell have inquired about Goodwin this fall.
