Walters State star moves on

The Senators of Walters State Community College made it to the national tourney this past March in Hutchinson, KS. The Senators are led by longtime coach Bill Carlyle who was recently selected for the NJCAA Hall of Fame this past season. The Senators only had a handful of sophomores this past season and JucoJunction has the latest on one of them.
Sirlester Martin, (SO) 6-foot-7 (200) from Memphis, TN, guided the Senators this season to a (32-3) and a trip to Hutch. Martin will play next season at Youngstown State University. Sirlester averaged 11 ppg and 8.2 rebounds this season while shooting 47.1% (141-299) from the floor. Martin scored 695 career points while grabbing 449 rebounds over two seasons for the Senators.
Martin is the fourth junior college player this spring to sign with the Penguins.
