West Plains Duo Narrowing Focus

The lists for Terrell Everett and Travis Parker are beginning to take shape this spring.
JUCO Junction caught up with Southwest Missouri State/West Plains Head Coach Tom Barr recently for updates on two of his Grizzly sophomores.

Everett, a lanky 6-4, 180 pounder from Charleston, S.C., is a terrific athlete who runs the floor gracefully. While he can bring up the ball a bit on offense, Everett isn't really a point guard. He's more of a slasher/transition guy suited for the swing (2/3) position.
The slimly built southpaw simply doesn't possess good shooting form, which is manifested in his free throw release technique. Despite his shortcomings, Everett is a proficient offensive player who garnered Region 16 Player of the Year honors. [Here is a link to an article regarding Everett's selection as region POY].
Barr said that Ole Miss, Creighton, Oklahoma and Minnesota have been the most serious suitors in line for Everett. It's unclear whether the Golden Gophers are still actively involved after picking up Dixie State swingman Vincent Grier last week.
Everett averaged 19 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game for the Grizzlies this season.
Parker, a husky 6-5, 235 pound combo forward from Greenville, N.C., can hurt defenses in many ways.
Despite his bulk, Parker can knock down the perimeter jumper or make the deft pass. He can bring a four man outside because of his threat as a shooter, or post up a three man should he rotate over to guard Parker on the wing.
Parker averaged 13.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Grizzlies this season. He shot 39.5 percent from three-point land.
Coach Barr said that Penn State, UNC-Wilmington and Arkansas State have shown the most interest in Parker.
West Plains was on break this past week, but Barr said that he expects both Parker and Everett to begin setting up official visits once they return to campus.
When we hear of those plans, we will run an update on this site, so stay tuned.
