West Plains White Has Visit on Tap

Zione White, an athletic 6-3, 180 pound combo guard from SW Missouri State/West Plains J.C. in West Plains, Mo., has an official visit on tap this month.
West Plains Asst. Coach Robert Guster told JUCO Junction that White will visit the University of Pittsburgh during the week of May 19.

Others in the mix with White this spring include Georgia, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
White appeared in 30 of 31 games this winter for the Grizzlies, averaging 15.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He missed one game this winter due to an injured knee.
"Zione is a quick and a bouncy athlete," Guster said. "He's a scoring lead guard who is a good on the ball defender with good hands."
Guster added that White must improve the consistency on his three point shot. For the season, White converted just 30 percent (52/171) during the 2002-2003 season. He shot 41 percent from the floor overall and 68 percent from the foul line.
A native of Spartanburg, S.C., White needs three hours this summer to graduate from West Plains. He will have two years of eligibility at a Division I school beginning next fall.
