Western Nebraska Signing Update

Bret Swanson of Swanny's Roundball Review recently caught up with Western Nebraska Head Coach Trace Bevell, and got updates on where most of the Cougar sophomores are headed.
As we reported here on the site last week, 6-6 small forward Ryan Thompson has signed with UConn.

Brandon Key, a 6-2, 175 pound guard from Aiken, S.C., signed with Winthrop University in his native Palmetto State.
Key averaged 8.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game for the 29-7 Cougars in 2002-2003.
Rodrigo Segantim, a hustling 6-7, 220 pound power forward from Brazil, signed with Stephen F. Austin in Texas.
Segantim averaged 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, shooting 52 percent from the floor.
University of Louisiana-Monroe picked up a pair of Western Nebraska players, signing 6-8, 220 pound power forward/center Olivier Haranga and 6-2, 200 pound combo/shooting guard Tony Helton.
A limited offensive player, Haranga averaged 2.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Cougars in 2002-2003. Haranga is from Douala, Cameroon.
Helton, a native El Paso, Tex., was WNCC's third leading scorer. He averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists, shooting 49 percent from the floor and 46 percent beyond the arc.
Adam Freeburg, a 5-11 reserve guard from Torrington, Wyo., will attend Black Hills State University in the fall.
