Western Oklahoma prospect makes decision

Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, OK is coached by Rolando De La Barrera. The Cowboys have made great strides under coach De La Barrera the past few seasons. The Cowboys had one of their players end his recruitment this weekend. JucoJunction has the latest on which Cowboys player will be heading home to his home state in this article.
Akeem Bennett, (SO) 6-foot-3 (195) from Long Island, NY, will be playing at St. Francis University in New York City next season according to coach De La Barrera. Bennett averaged 10.6 ppg and 5.3 rebounds this season for the Cowboys. Akeem averaged 12.6 ppg as a freshman for the Cowboys last season. Akeem received interest from St. Peter's and Fordham before deciding on St Francis. All three schools offered him a scholarship.
Bennett prepped at Laurinburg Institute in Laurinburg, NC under then head coach Mark Hsu before landing at Western Oklahoma State College.
