What Next for Hakeem Rollins

Hakeem Rollins, the fast rising 6-8, 235 pound power forward from Mesa C.C. in Mesa, Ariz., has seen his list shuffle quite a bit in the past few weeks.
JUCO Junction caught up with Mesa Head Coach Alton Lister on Thursday, and he told us that Rollins is in the midst of back to back official visits.

Rollins wraps up an official visit (Apr.23-25) to Washington today, and begins another one to Minnesota (Apr. 25-27) later in the day.
Rollins had been slated to visit Stanford a few weeks back, but that visit fell through, Lister said. Even though he was a full academic qualifier out of high school, Rollins was denied admission to Stanford and could not be tendered a scholarship offer.
Back in March, he took his first two official visits to Southern Illinois and UC-Santa Barbara.
After his visits to Washington and Minnesota, Rollins will only have one more official visit left this spring.
Lister said that UConn is tentatively scheduled to receive that final visit, although Marquette has made a late push in the race.
In fact, Marquette Head Coach Tom Crean was in Scottsdale, Ariz., last weekend for the NCAA certified ACCAC Spring Showcase.
Not to be outdone, UConn Head Coach Jim Calhoun will visit Rollins at Mesa on Tuesday, Apr. 29, Lister said.
Wherever he decides to take that final official visit, Rollins is expected to make a decision in early May.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on his situation until he signs an LOI, so stay tuned.
