Whats Up Next for Panolas Thomas

Omar Thomas, the high scoring 6-5 small forward from Panola J.C. in Carthage, Tex., took his first official visit this past weekend (Apr. 11-13).
JUCO Junction caught up with Panola Head Coach Scott Monarch this week, and he told us that Thomas enjoyed his trip last weekend to Texas El Paso.

"It went well like most visits do, but we still don't know anything just yet," Monarch said.
In fact, Thomas may not take another official visit until May. He has no visit scheduled visit this upcoming weekend, and the followin g weekend he is slated to play in an all-star game in Arkansas.
Penn State, Dayton and Virginia Tech are the programs courting Thomas most seriously, in addition to UTEP.
Dayton's situation was unclear a few weeks ago when Oliver Purnell left the Atlantic 10 program to take over the reins at Clemson. But Monarch said that the Flyers' new coaching staff has been in contact and is still interested in recruiting Thomas.
A native of Philadelphia, the unorthodox Thomas is the master of the midrange game. He broke all sorts of records the past two seasons playing for the run and gun Ponies. This past season, he averaged 37.8 points and 17.9 rebounds per game, shooting 57 percent from the floor.
Monarch said he expects to have more information regarding Thomas' upcoming trips by the end of the month, so JUCO Junction will keep you posted if anything new surfaces.
