Butler University surprised many recently when it beat a pair of high major conference programs to make the Sweet 16. The Bulldogs face a similar fate on the recruiting trail with Vincennes' Jeff Varem, but they'll get the first swing this spring at the talented 6-5 jack of all trades.
Varem will take his first official visit to Butler from Apr. 10-12, according to Vincennes Asst. Coach Joey Hart. Butler is battling the likes of Villanova and Wyoming to secure Varem's services.
Varem is expected to visit both of those programs as well this spring, Hart said. However no date has been set for either of those trips to this point.
The Nigerian native enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign for the Blazers, who were knocked out of the Region 12 title game last month by Schoolcraft College of Michigan.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on Varem's situation and any other upcoming visits he schedules. Stay tuned!
