Works Gives Nod to Texas Tech

Joseph "Mookie" Works, a 6-7, 220 pound power forward from Garden City C.C. in Garden City, Kan., has committed to Texas Tech.
JUCO Junction confirmed this today with Garden City Asst. Coach Ryan Hellenthal.

Works took an official visit to Texas Tech this past weekend (Feb. 21-23), when the Red Raiders hosted Texas A&M in Lubbock.
A native of San Antonio, Tex., Works has enjoyed a solid season for the Broncbusters.
"Joseph is looking forward to getting back to the state of Texas and the chance to play in the Big 12 Conference," Hellenthal said. "He knows it will be a challenge for him, but he also knows that he will only get better playing for Coach Knight."
Works is a high level athlete who plays at a high degree of intensity. He has been trying to make the transition to the three slot this year at Garden City, but we see him fitting in best at the four slot at the Big 12 level.
Works is the third JC player to commit to the Red Raiders this year, the others being 6-6 shooter Curtis Marshall of New Mexico Military and 6-8 DeVonne Giles of Seward County C.C. in Kansas.
