Younger Armstrong Drawing Looks at DVC

Shamar Armstrong, a 6-3, 195 pound shooting/combo guard from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, Calif., has already attracted Division I recruiting interest this fall.
JUCO Junction caught up with DVC Head Coach Steve Coccimiglio recently, and he filled us in on Armstrong's situation.

A native of Vallejo, Calif., Armstrong has been offered by Eastern Washington, Coccimiglio said. UC-Santa Barbara has also expressed some degree of interest in Armstrong this fall.
Armstrong is the younger brother of former Pepperdine star and current New Jersey Net Brandon.
Last winter, he averaged 11.1 points and 3.7 assists for the Vikings.
"He's long and he's a streaky shooter," Coccimiglio explained. "He doesn't have textbook form on his outside shot, but he defends, and is cat like in the way he can move and change directions."
Armstrong is expected to make a late decision. JUCO Junction will stay on top of the situation as the spring signing period approaches. Stay tuned.
