Youngstown State adds a pair

Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS had a great season on the floor under head coach Mike Bargen. The Grizzlies finished 29-7 and played in the NJCAA National tourney at nearby Hutchinson, KS. The Grizzlies now have their fourth player headed to division one this spring. Dushawn Brooks will play at Youngstown State University next year in the Horizon League. Brooks, a two-year player for Butler County Community College, averaged 10.9 ppg and 4.8 rebounds this past season while shooting 49% (128-259) from the floor. Brooks, a wing player from Chicago, prepped at Harmony Prep in Cincinnati,OH after high school.

Brooks received interest from the Penguins and Idaho State. Brooks now joins Caleb Walker (Nebraska), Anthony Cousin (Illinois State) and Troy Pierce (Charleston Southern) as Division One signees. Brooks finished his career at Butler County Community Collegewith 616 points in 65 games played.
Fred Ford is no stranger to division one basketball. Ford, a guard from Fort Wayne, IN, started his college career at Missouri- Kansas City. Vincennes University assistant coach Brian Davis informed JucoJunction today that Ford has signed with Youngstown State University for next year.
"Fred had a great year for us and should do well for Youngstown State. assistant coach Mike Wernicki did a great job of recruiting Fred as he really made him a top priority in their plans at Youngstown State," said Davis.
Ford averaged 13.5 ppg and 4.8 assists this year while shooting 36% (75-209) from three-point land. The Trailblazers finished the season at 22-10.
