Yuba Freshman Has High Majors Intrigued

While a pair of sophomores at Yuba College are being recruited aggressively this fall, it's a freshman that has drawn the most high major interest.
Zach Andrews, a 6-8, 218 pound power forward from Sacramento, Calif., attracted several high level programs to fall workouts at Yuba.

According to Head Coach Doug Cornelius, Washington State came in twice and Arizona also paid a visit to the Marysville, Calif., school. San Diego State and Texas A&M have also contacted Cornelius this fall to express a strong interest in Andrews.
JUCO Junction caught Andrews at the 2003 California Summer JUCO Showcase at Azusa Pacific this past. He's blessed with long arms, a wiry athletic frame and terrific wheels to motor up and down the floor. The words "tools" and "upside" best describe Andrews at this early stage of his junior college career.
According to Coach Cornelius, Andrews played just one year of organized basketball at Cordova H.S. in Sacramento before enrolling at Yuba. As a non-qualifier, he will need to earn his associates degree before moving on to a Division I program.
JUCO Junction will keep you abreast of Andrews' freshman campaign at Yuba as well as his recruitment. Stay tuned!
